In this article we're going to discuss migrating your website to Cloudways hosting using their migration plugin which is available from the WordPress repository.

Keep in mind, they'll do this for free. All you need to do is ask their support to initiate the transfer and give the data that they require. However, if you're looking to do the migration yourself, Cloudways has published a WordPress plugin that makes it very easy and simple.

To begin the migration of your WordPress website, ensure that you have turned off all security plugins and anything that could interfere with the initial login When accessing your website on a new server. You can read more about our migration checklist here.

Once your website is ready to be migrated over to Cloudways, create a new server and then a new application on their platform.

Once your application is created, you will have access to the application URL, administrative login, and my SQL access. Keep this screen open because you'll need it too begin the migration.

On the website that you're migrating over to Cloudways, install the Cloudways migrator plugin, and then navigate to it admin sub page. Here, you'll need to enter information which can be found on your Cloudways application access details dashboard.

this is a fairly simple process as all you need to do is enter the information which can be found on your Cloudways application dashboard.

The migration tool requires SFTP details period to create them, under the application credit Angels screen, to simply enter a username and password. then paste the credentials into the input fields within the Cloudways migrator. once all of the details are entered, simply click the migrate button And the process will begin.

This is done through blog vault, which will first verify that all the details are correct. after verification, which is automatic, it will begin the migration process for you. The time it takes for the migration to occur can vary.

For us, we've had migrations complete in minutes, while others have taken hours. It depends on the size of your website as well as the complexity.

Once the migration is occurring, you can close the tab. The tool will automatically email you as soon as the migration is complete. On the new Cloudways website, check to see that the domain applied to all aspects, and then you're good to go.
