TutorLMS just released version 2.0 of their Oxygen Builder integration, with bugfixes, new elements, and more styling control. In this article, we're going to take a look at this new release.
Tutor LMS has always supported Oxygen Builder users through their free Oxygen Builder Integration plugin, which added LMS-specific elements to the builder backend editor. The LMS is a great option if you want to sell courses or education online, and operates on a freemium model. You can use a free version, and upgrade to pro if you need additional functionality.
However, this integration was relatively limited. Here's a review discussing these limitations:
But now, with 2.0, many of these limitations were addressed, making it easy to insert and completely style all aspects of the TutorLMS UI.
Let's take a look at these new features.
Tutor LMS is a complete learning management system. The most popular use case for this tool is selling courses online. There are several aspects, from courses to students to quizzes, and more. The tool can be further extended by implementing free addons and/or going pro.
Students and instructors have front-end dashboards to take and facilitate online learning. With a "traditional" WordPress site, we would install a Tutor LMS theme, set up the pages, and be on our way.
But with Oxygen, 1) there are no themes and 2) we're now able to visually build and customize every aspect of our LMS website.
Under the Oxygen Template settings, we can see that there are several new post types added when Tutor LMS is installed.
And after loading the builder, we're now presented will all Tutor LMS elements. You can see that there are a ton of options here.
Profiles, single course elements, archives, and entire pages are available to you in the builder.
With each element, you have a lot of styling options, meaning that you're not going to need to write any CSS to customize your styling.
Each specific element has its own unique customization options.
Compared to the previous versions of the Tutor LMS and Oxygen integration plugin, this new one has many more elements, and actually allows users to style all aspects of the styling, typography, and spacing.
With 2.0.1+ you'll be able to build completely custom LMS websites with Oxygen and Tutor LMS.
