Artificial intelligence continues to make its impact on the world in various ways. When we hear about artificial intelligence, we might think of physical robots. However, AI has crept into the world of online writing. As marketers, bloggers, product makers, etc, produce more and more content, they are often looking for more ways to streamline the production process. In other words, we need more tools to help us deliver web content faster.

Two popular AI writing tools include Jasper and Writesonic. You may have heard of them or currently use them. Let's take a look at both of these online writing tools to see how they compare.

Note, Jarvis.ai recently rebranded to Jasper.ai.

Writesonic Review - How Good Is It In 2021?

How Do Writesonic and Jasper Work?

Both AI content writing tools can help you write faster and produce a large amount of content. Regardless of which tool you use, you can start with an idea that will be completed by the software. You can lay down your initial ideas and have a full article written by Jasper or Writesonic.

The main difference in the software is in regards to the type of content that can be produced. Sure marketers love and use both tools eagerly. Both allow you to produce content for blogs, ads, articles, product descriptions. Between the two, Jasper does appear to be more advanced and robust.

Features of the Software

Writesonic and Jasper both come with over 40 types of copy for you to utilize. The types of copy available on Wrtiesonic include website copy, digital ads for Linkedin, Google or Facebook, etc. If you are advertising on Amazon, use Wrtitesonic to write product copy, descriptions, sales emails, and featured ads.

Like Jasper, Writesonic utilizes standard copywriting formulas. While you are writing, you can use the AI tool to generate a copy written in the  AIDA or the Pain-Agitate-Solution model.

It will help you generate an outline and a standard blog post of about over 700 words after you input a topic and introduction. However, to truly rank on Google, you will need over 1000 words ideally. You can keep hitting the regenerate button until you get something you like as long as you don’t run out of credits.

The content rephraser sounds nice but can only rephrase a short snippet of content, not a full article. So, if you want to revamp your introductions or short social posts in up to three different voice tones, then you may like the rephraser.

While the above options are great for production, Jasper has Writesonic beat.  If you want to write a long-form article beyond 700 words, Jasper is the tool for you. It has the capability to not only write stories but also books. Yes - actual books!

As mentioned earlier, you may use up to three voices on the content rephraser but not necessarily the article generator of Writesonic. Jasper can write in voices that include humor, iconic, and celebrity voices.

Creativity

Writesonic is great for standard marketing. It creates original blog or copywriting content from various sources. It writes content that can pull in relevant keywords for sales and social media engagement. If you care to write a creative story, book, or poem - then Jasper is the way to go.

With an internal database of over one million sentences, over 2500 writing category styles to choose from, and the ability to identify quotes or paraphrases from other sources, it is simply easier to have a creative voice in Jasper.

Pricing and Plans

Writesonic and Jasper allow you to try them both for free. Writesonic wins with its range of payment options beyond the free program in terms of affordability.

Jasper has two plans, such as the Starter plan which is $29 a month, or the Boss Mode option for $119 a month.

When you subscribe to Writesonic, you may use the free trial, a monthly subscription-based on your needs, or use the pay-as-you-go option for greater flexibility.

Both Writesonic and Jasper are available in more than 25 languages regardless of the plan option.

Bloggers, freelance writers, or students may find the Basic plan is ideal for them on Writesonic. This plan only costs $15 per month and comes with the same features available in a free trial. With that said, if you are willing to pay $14 more to join Jasper as a Starter,  you will have access to over 50 copywriting templates, unlimited user log-ins,  5 project folders, and write up to 20,000 words a month.

Professional freelancers can pay $45 a month and get unlimited credits. All features are available on this plan, but once again only one user can use the Writesonic app. This is in comparison to the $29 Jasper plan that permits unlimited user logins.

There are two plans that are available for businesses on Writesonic.

Startups and small businesses pay $95 per month for the Startup plan that comes with all the features, unlimited credits, and up to 2 users. This plan is further enhanced by including priority support.

The largest plan available is the Agency plan, which permits four users. $195 a month gives businesses and agencies all available features including a custom feature request. In the near future, the agency plan will have white labeling available as well. For $119, you can get the Boss Mode plan on Jasper that comes with unlimited words, recipes, unlimited folders but one user login.

Both Jasper plans come with chat support.

The standout pricing feature for Writesonic comes with its flexible pay-as-you-go option. If you don't think you will use this tool a lot, you can avoid signing up for a monthly subscription. Just utilize the PAYG (Pay as you go) feature.

While Jasper may be more robust, Writesonic has more flexibility in terms of payment options.

Pros and Cons of  Writesonic and Jasper

Pros

Both AI writing software programs allow you to try them out for free. You can utilize over 25 language options as well.

Regardless of which one you pick, you will be able to speed up your writing production and write using over 40 content templates.

Both tools have some similar features such as the ability to write social media content such as  Facebook headlines and Google ads. Both contain content types related to product descriptions, blog posts, article outlines, and idea generators.

As mentioned before Jasper wins on the more creative front by allowing you to write stories, poems, and books in addition to more copywriting stuff.

However, Writesonic has more payment options and flexibility. You do not have to sign any binding contracts. You have the freedom to cancel at any time, even with a monthly subscription. The pay as you go feature is especially handy if you are not sure how often you may need to use Writesonic’s services.

Cons

Writesonic can not produce content as long as Jasper does. It does not have the creative capability that Jasper has.

Jasper only has two payment options. You can get your money back after seven days of signing up for a paid plan, but with Writesonic, you can cancel at any time with no financial obligation.

Who Are Jasper and Writesonic For?

As mentioned earlier, Writesonic has membership plans for both individuals and companies.  A busy freelance writer will certainly be able to take advantage of many of the features available in the software. Whether you are a freelancer that writes long-form articles, short blog posts, or social copy, you can use Writesonic.  However, a freelancer that does not generate a lot of work may not need it yet.

Jasper only has two plans available but is popular with both companies and individuals.  After all,  one Jasper plan does have unlimited users as opposed to the Writesonic plans that only have two to four seats available.

Agencies can use this software to draft web content, marketing emails, and social ad campaigns for every social media tool available.  The tool also assists with writing YouTube copy. So, if you are an agency that has several clients, you'll be able to handle tighter turnaround times with this writing assistant.

If you feel you have the need to write long-form or creative content such as poems, stories, or books, obviously, Jasper is the right one for you. Jasper may also be better for research or academic-type papers due to the long-form content type and its ability to recognize quotes and paraphrases.

Educational Resources

Both tools are very easy to use with very clean user interfaces. However, The Writesonic creators have put together a very nice resource page that provides useful tutorials for all of their features.  Rest assured that when you sign up for the software, you will be able to become a pro at all of the features.

There's also a link to join a Facebook group so that you can ask questions of other Writesonic users.

If you want to learn more about Jasper, you can join the Jasper Bootcamp, which is a 45-minute video series that will tell you all you need to know about its functionality. There is also an expansive online community of 35,000 content creators and copywriters that you can join.

As you can see, both options provide ways to educate users to bring you up to speed as quickly as possible.

Conclusion

Writers today are in heavy demand. Businesses and marketing agencies cannot produce content fast enough -  even with a full staff. So it is nice to have an AI writing assistant available to both freelancers and companies alike.

Writesonic is a very useful tool with a very clean interface. Once your email is validated, you literally can go to your profile page and begin writing immediately.  All features are available to you whether you want to produce an article, social media copy, or product description.

Jasper has an absolutely dazzling website that pulls you in and makes you eager to try the tool.  I was initially impressed with its ability to write a poem, but now my mind is blown by the knowledge that one can write a whole book using it. I wonder how good the book will be.

One of the many things that is great about both tools is if you are a writer in a particular niche,  you can easily begin to switch over to a different niche while utilizing the services of either one.

Whether you want to produce social media ads, write funny snippets, produce the same content in different voices, become a blogger, create product descriptions, you can easily do so on both apps.

For what you can do with both apps, the pricing is rather reasonable. As long as you have paying clients, freelancers and companies alike and easily make back your monthly or yearly subscriptions. With Writesonic, you can simply opt to pay for what you need as you go along.

Both Writesonic and Jasper do a great job educating users and connecting them to others.  Site tutorials are available by text or video on their websites. Both sites appear easy to use and constantly get high usability rankings from users.

Both of these tools show what GPT-3 technology can do. Over 300 applications are using GPT-3 technology - a technology that currently generates about 4.5 billion words a day.

The GPT- 3 API completes any form of written text in a natural tone by way of deep learning..It does not sound like a computer is speaking/writing as it can mimic human language.

It is super hard to say which tool is best. Overall, I would have to say Jasper seems to be the winner. It just seems more robust and has both creative and copywriting capabilities compared to Writesonic. Both provide a great way to streamline writing production and seem to be money well spent.  Writesonic does have more financial flexibility which is a good thing when there are so many apps to try. One may get bored or simply find a better one.

I look forward to seeing how GPT- 3 technology continues to enhance AI writing in the future.
