Building a new website takes a lot of time and energy.  Luckily, Zion Builder is a useful tool that you can use to quickly build a website in WordPress. It is a perfect blend of code and design. You do not need to know how to code in order to use the software.

There are many templates and elements to choose from as you quickly build your blog or website for your business or personal needs. Let's look at some of the features, price points, highs, and lows of this web builder. You may decide it is the right option for your website building needs.

It is easy to think of Zion Builder as a one-stop-shop for building a website. There are tons of features at your fingertips to get your site up and running as quickly as possible.

Page builder pop-up

This pop-up element makes it easy to access all the different templates available. There are also different pre-made elements that you will find very useful.

Global styles allow you to apply the same CSS styles to different elements. You can use the element options panel or the page options panel to access the CSS files. Don't worry, you do not have to actually know how to code CSS style sheets. These are already made for you in this particular tool.

Users are able to keep track of the past steps taken while building a website thanks to the history of actions. You always see what you last revised, previously set user permissions as well as discard changes that you no longer find useful. You can easily undo and redo certain actions with various shortcuts.

Header and Footer Builder

Do you want your header and footer to look a certain way regardless of the page or website? Do you want to apply the same header and footer across different pages without constantly having to rebuild them? The header and footer builder is a nice feature that will allow you to build unlimited headers and footers and assign them to any page that you want.

Theme Builder

Theme Builder allows you to create and assign content to different pages. You can customize individual pages, such as a product page, as much as you wish.

WooCommerce Builder

If you advertise products, the WooCommerce Builder allows you to create both a product archive and a single product page.  You can utilize one design across all your product pages or just save it for a particular page. In other words, different products can easily have a different aesthetic.

Blog Post Builder

Are you a blogger?  The Blog Post Builder feature is just for you. Here, you can easily build a single blog page or entire blog site by creating various dynamic layouts. Assign specific content or layouts to your blog pages when you use the theme builder.

Slider Builder

Sometimes a good slideshow comes in handy -  especially when you have engaging visuals. You can add a Slide Builder to show any type of content that you like. Show off featured products, artwork, or your latest blog posts.

Modal Builder

Do you find pop-ups useful on your site?  Use the Modal Builder to build your own custom pop-ups. You can also enable your pop-ups to occur by way of various action triggers. Enable a pop-up by way of scrolling, exit behavior, or when somebody is on your page for a few seconds.

The Building Process

Zion Builder makes it easy for novices to build a website from scratch. If you're worried about production time, make use of the various keyboard shortcuts such as command + ( various).   Do you want to save something quickly?  Use the standard shortcut of command + S to save your latest update.

While building a site or blog, you may constantly change your mind about the look and feel of your website. Rest assured that you are not stuck with any particular look or action forever. Easily discard any changes that you made  - particularly in terms of style. Any element that you adjusted can be easily rolled back.

When you add visual elements to a site, you may notice that they may initially load smaller or larger than you will like. A simple way to change the size of any element in Zion Builder is with the use of the drag tool. All you have to do is hover over the element and then drag the toolbox lines to your desired size.

As you change the look of your site,  you may want to find different CSS options. The search system was built with this in mind. Easily find a CSS rule by way of search - not by coding.

Actions such as copy, remove, duplicate, edit, save, cut, hide, and discard can be triggered by the use of the right-click. So you don't have to go around searching for different menus to make these changes.

Design Elements

When you build a website, you want the design to be as unique as possible. If you are not a coder, the more built-in options you have at your fingertips the better.

Your site does not have to be static. Use CSS3 to add fade, zoom, rotate, and slide animations to different elements.  Feel free to control the speed and time duration of how these animations appear on your website.

Build a site that goes beyond basic primary colors. There is a range of colors to choose from thanks to the custom-made Color Picker.

Align your content as you wish. Content can easily be centered, vertical, or horizontal due to Flexbox control.

Apply beautiful filters to your images and other elements. Filters such as sepia, blur, blend, and various opacity options can be applied. Give them shadows to give a layering effect.

Make your borders as thin or thick as you like. Enhance your designs by giving them unique border elements.

Zion Library

The extensive library has its own panel that you can access from the main bar. Go to the library to access reusable templates. Take a ready-made template or create one to save to the library.

Easily add a template to a page with a simple click of the insert button.

Easily find anything you like in the library when you use the search component. You can also create your own custom categories when you add templates to the library. You can always preview your templates in the Panel Library as well.

If the above features are not enough for you, there are even more advanced features available depending on your package.

Advanced Features

You can exhibit better user control by enabling whether logged in or logged out users can see your site's content.  What a user can edit can also be controlled by you by way of user permissions in the dashboard.

If you are someone who often makes several revisions to your content,  you may enjoy the fact that you can go back to all those saved versions - regardless of how many there are.  After all, you may realize that your first or second version was much better than version number five or ten.  Past versions of content are available when you edit that same post on a dashboard.

For security purposes, many websites will transfer their domain from HTTP to HTTPS. If you do such a domain transfer, you can easily replace your old URLs with new ones.

While you don't need to code in order to use Zion Builder, you will be able to show off any CSS skills that you learn by adding custom CSS to any area of the site.  The builder supports custom JavaScript and HTML as well.

Zion builder comes with everything you can think of. However, if there are additional elements the Zion builder has not thought of, developers can add such options to the main panel.

Feel free to test the waters by way of a free download. The free option comes with 10 basic templates, over a hundred elements in a library, and over 40 core elements. So the free option does give you a good idea of how the Builder can work for you.

The other main plans range from $29 a year to $249 for life. Each plan has everything available as a free option.

Individuals with one website can take advantage of the Personal plan for $29 a year. The plan comes with support, pro builder elements, blog post Builder, Theme Builder, and much more.

The $69 a year Pro plan lets you build 3 websites compared to the Extended plan that allows unlimited websites for $149 annually.

If you are serious about producing websites for a long time, you may want to jump on the Lifetime plan. Users will pay $249 at one time for lifetime access.  Bear in mind, there are only 923 licenses left to date for this option.

Pros & Cons

Before you start fooling around with this amazing site Builder, you can test it out for free.

After paying for a subscription, you are not locked in for a set period. Simply go into your account and cancel your subscription. You also have 30 days to get your money back after signing up for a subscription.

If you decide to cancel your plan, it will not affect your website. Zion Builder will continue to work after your license expires. However, you will no longer have access to any support features.

Unlike other web software, all paid Zion Builder subscriptions come with support. They also come with updates as well.

Since it uses lightweight code, your pages will load much faster when you use Zion Builder compared to other site builders.

You don't need to know any code to take advantage of Zion Builder. However, if you do learn code over time or want to hire a developer, you can customize several elements of your website.

The lifetime option sounds like a great deal as long as people get a chance to grab it.

While you can cancel your subscription at any time, it does not appear that you will get back a refund for any unused time. A full refund is made within your first 30 days of purchase.

The free option does not come with advanced features.

Other popular competitors include:

  • Elementor
  • Oxygen
  • Beaver Builder

Many Elementor users claim Zion Builder is much faster.

Who Is  Zion Builder For?

Zion Builder is best for smaller agencies that have to build several sites.  Experienced web developers will also appreciate the tool, since you can easily get a website up and running with the site Builder. After the basic website is built, developers can go in and further customize it with little hassle.

Final Thoughts About Zion Builder

There are so many tools to choose from when you want to get a blog or website built. One time you had to be able to properly code in order to build a website. Of course, now there are different tools that can help non-coders. Zion Builder markets itself to non-coders as it successfully has many tools available to build and customize a website.

Unlike other web tools, all plans come with some type of support.  I think this is great because anything can happen on a website, especially if you don't have a coding background to fix it.  Luckily, Zion does think ahead to the future. While someone may initially start out not being able to code, more people are learning how to do so. So you can buy Zion Builder with no coding skills whatsoever, but later successfully customize the HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

Developers don't have to spend a long time building the initial site. They can take advantage of the non-coding tools to get a full website up very quickly, and then work their magic on the back end.

The lifetime option sounds like a deal too good to be true.  If you plan on building websites for years or decades to come, it sounds like a pretty good plan to jump on before those licenses run out.

When people talk about Zion Builder they often mention the speed. There's nothing worse than building a massive website with amazing content that takes forever to load. Regardless of how much work you put into a website, if users can't load it, they will eventually move on. Small agencies and serious individual web developers should consider Zion Builder to get many websites up and running as soon as possible.
